Investigation Overview
November 14, 2016 (Shareholders Foundation) - An investigation on behalf of investors of Terravia Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:SZYM) shares over potential securities laws violations by Terravia Holdings and certain of its directors and officers in connection certain financial statements was announced.
The investigation by a law firm focuses on possible claims on behalf of purchasers of the securities of Terravia Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:SZYM) concerning whether a series of statements by Terravia Holdings regarding its business, its prospects and its operations were materially false and misleading at the time they were made.
Terravia Holdings Inc reported that its annual Total Reveneu declined from $60.39 million in 2014 to $46.13 million in 2015 and that its Net Loss decreased from $162.14 million in 2014 to $141.45 million in 2015.
On November 7, 2016, an article was published entitlet Soylent Thinks It Found What Was Making People Sick: Algae, stating that Rosa Foods, Inc.s flagship meal replacement drink, Soylent, contains an algal flour ingredient provided by Terravia Holdings Inc that causes consumers to become sick and that Rosa Foods will be removing the ingredient altogether from its product formulations by early 2017. Although Terravia Holdings Inc Senior Vice President denied that Terravia Holdings Incs algal flour was responsible, it was reported that Terravia Holdings Inc sent a letter in July to a separate customer, EN-R-G Foods, LLC warning that Terravia Holdings Incs algal protein ingredient had been linked to a modest number of reports related to EN-R-Gs Honey Stinger energy bar showing ailments similar to those reported by Soylent customers, namely nausea and vomiting.
