September 11, 2017 - The complaint was not amended. The case was dismissed.
August 11, 2017 - The court granted the defendants' motion to dismiss. The plaintiffs were given leave to amend the complaint.
May 5, 2017 - A motion to dismiss the amended complaint was filed.
March 20, 2017 - An amended consolidated complaint was filed.
August 15, 2016 - An investor in shares of SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ: SCTY) filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California over alleged violations of Federal Securities Laws by SolarCity Corp in connection with certain allegedly false and misleading statements made between May 5, 2015, and February 9, 2016.
According to the complaint the plaintiff alleges on behalf of purchasers of SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ: SCTY) common shares between May 5, 2015, and February 9, 2016, that the defendants violated Federal Securities Laws.
More specifically, the plaintiff claims that between May 5, 2015, and February 9, 2016 the defendants made allegedly false and/or misleading statements and/or allegedly failed to disclose that demand for the Company’s products was weakening, that the Company was concealing the weakening demand from investors, and that, as a result of the foregoing, Defendants’ statements about SolarCity Corp’s business, operations, and prospects, were false and misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis.
On October 29, 2015, SolarCity Corp announced that it was lowering its full year 2015 guidance.
Then, on February 9, 2016 SolarCity Corp disclosed that it fell short of its previously issued fiscal year 2015 installation guidance.
Shares of SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ: SCTY) declined from $56.91 per share in December 2015 to as low as $16.30 per share on February 11, 2016.
