San Diego, Aug 22, 2011 (Shareholders Foundation) -- After NASDAQW: RVBD stocks fell almost 50% within the past four weeks an investigation on behalf of investors in shares of Riverbed Technology, Inc. Its second quarter Revenue increased from $126.23million a year earlier to $170.29million for the second quarter in 2011 and its second quarter Net Income increased from $6.55million to $11.28million.
Shares of Riverbed Technology, Inc. traded during March 2011 as high as $44.48, respectively on July 19, 2011 as high as $41.40 per share.
Then on July 19, 2011, Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD) reported financial results for its second quarter ended June 30, 2011 and that it acquired Zeus Technology, a privately-owned company that delivers high-performance software-based load balancing and traffic management solutions for virtual and cloud environments.
On August 17, 2011, Silver Peak Systems, Inc. announced that it filed claims against Riverbed Technology for infringing three of Silver Peak's United States patents related to its WAN optimization technology.
Silver Peak Systems, Inc said it seeks to have Riverbed Technology permanently enjoined from making and selling the features of Riverbed Technology's Steelhead series appliances, Riverbed Operating System (RiOS) software, and related services that are accused of infringement.
The next day, Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD) announced that it has reviewed the counterclaims of patent infringement made by Silver Peak Systems in Riverbed Technology's patent infringement lawsuit against Silver Peak Systems and said that 'Silver Peak's counterclaims are without merit and are an expected reaction to the lawsuit that [Riverbed Technology] initiated against [Silver Peak Systems] in June'.
Shares of Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD) fell since over $41 in July 2011 to a close of $20.61 per share on August 19, 2011.
