Lawsuit Overview
<p align= justify >The minority shareholders of Inverness-based Verex, Inc. had filed a lawsuit in Arapahoe County District Court against company PR Pharmaceuticals Inc. over its acquisition of the majority of Verex Laboratories Inc. in 2000. The shareholders alleged PR Pharmaceuticals Inc. in the class action that PR Pharmaceuticals Inc. and some of its officers breached their fiduciary duty when they acquired the majority.<br />On Wednesday, July 23rd 2008, a Colorado state court jury of the Arapahoe County District Court found that Englewood-based public drug company PR Pharmaceuticals Inc, its President, Steven Howe, and CEO, Dr. Patrick Bols breached their fiduciary duty to shareholders of Verex Laboratories Inc. and awarded punitive damages that could exceed $ 2 Million.<br />The verdict affects about 1,185 Verex shareholders that collectively hold about 1,195,470 shares. The court has previously indicated that it may value those shares at $ .50/share for a total value of $597,735.<br />The jury awarded also punitive dames against all of the defendants and in favor of Verex, Inc. Reportedly Total damages including interest are expected to bring the value of the verdict to over $2 million dollars.</p>
