Investigation Overview

Japan based Nissan Motor Co Ltd reported that its Total Revenue declined from over $10.72 billion for the 12 months period that ended on March 31, 2016 to over $10.31 billion for the 12 months period that ended on March 31, 2017 and that its Net Income for those time periods increased from over $4.6 billion to over $5.83 billion.
On October 19, 2017, Nissan Motor Co Ltd announced that the Company was suspending all production for the Japanese market after a third-party investigator reported that employees without proper authorization had conducted final inspections of vehicles produced at Nissans Japanese plants intended for the domestic market before they were shipped to dealers.
On October 20, 2017, Japanese national broadcaster NHK reported that an internal investigation at Nissan Motor Co Ltd had shown that the Company had failed to follow proper final inspection procedures required by Japans transport ministry for at least 20 years.
